I grew up pretty rough being raised by only my father who pushed me to be the best I can be in basketball. I have had many trials and tribulations in which God continued to bring me through; from days not having running hot water to going through a very
bad heartbreak my junior year in college. I dated a former student athlete when I attended Ohio State University who broke my heart to a point that it took me to place I never want to revisit. I transferred to Xavier University to play my last year of basketball as well as earn my Master’s Degree. I then met Mark and Susie Hammitt, who took me in as their own and helped me find my way back to the Lord. I am so thankful for them because I was lost for a long time and they helped me fall back in love with Jesus and forgive my past. Now I am able to say that I know there will be more storms heading my way, but I have enough faith to know
that there is nothing God cannot do. I am a living testimony that with God all things are possible. A year ago today I was so broken I could have never imagined myself playing basketball in Ireland getting an experience of a life time. God has blessed me with a great opportunity to be a living witness of His mercy and grace. –Maleeka
